Eyepatch Kazuki

The first drawing I've been somewhat pleased with in a while. It's still unfinished, but people know that I have a habit of never [I mean NEVER] finishing my artwork, and for the first time, I actually WANT to finish this one. Not just because it looks okay, but there's story behind this picture. It's based on one of my old characters that...well, I never really did anything with the character, but I had a whole concept in my mind about a guy with an eyepatch [I actually have the second concept of him in my old Photobucket somewhere].

Back in the day, back when I used to enjoy drawing more than anything else and my whole life revolved around Anime and concepts [...it still does, fuck you], I drew this guy with this weird eyepatch and weird hair. I wound up liking the pic so much that I penned it [it was the first picture I ever penned in my whole life, I did it with a ballpoint pen, so it was hardly professional and stuff, not to mention I fucked up]. I scanned it and showed it to one of my friends at the time, Alkene, and she was all-- "KAWAIII!!!"

Funny how I remember that conversation yet I can't remember simple household chores and stuff. Anyway, she asked me who he was, I told her he was just some guy I drew and she asked me if he had a name. Anyway, she wound up naming him Kazuki. The following two years or so, I lost contact with her, I wound up staying away from the internet for a loooong time. In fact, I stopped drawing altogether. Aaaaaaaaanyway, I started drawing again, and in one of my sketchbooks, I wound up doodling a guy and wound up giving him Kazuki's eyepatch and calling him "Eyepatch McGee."

It wounded up as my alias for a while, too. I originally joined Konaha [a RPG] under the impression of having Eyepatch be my first character. Never worked out. I joined around the same time that I was reading the Chunin Exam Chapters and totally wanted to make a Taijutsu character...Enter: Senpai Matsumoto. Yeah, though. Long story short, this is his latest incarnation. The last one was based on Zack [he has a last name now, I think] from Final Fantasy VII. Basically slapped an eyepatch on him.

I'm still thinking this one over, though. Apparently, Tite Kubo has taken his influence on me...
